Passwords list

You can see a real life tutorial of the passwords list section in the application.

  • The “passwords list” interface contains a set of: 1. Custom passwords that are added manually by the user of the application.

  1. Preloaded passwords that are complete combination of “Url” “Login” “Password” and other optional fields that added by the company console manager.

  2. Preloaded systems that are a set of “Url” and “Password rules” added by the company manager and the user generates his password.

  • In “passwords list” interface you can click on the icon of the password and it will be redirected you as a “Go-to” button.

3.2.3.1 Create password

  • After clicking on the Create password buttoncreate_password_interface” in the list of passwords, “Create password” interface will be displayed, this interface is composed of:

    • “URL” field which is a text input wherein the user can enter the target url associated to the credentials.

    • “Login” field which is a text input wherein the user can provide the login he uses to access to the target URL.

    • “Password” field which is a text input wherein the user can provide the password he uses to the target URL, this password will be by default composed of number of digits predefined in the console settings, a set of ” lowercase letters , uppercase letters , numbers , special characters “

  • “See password icon” which is responsible for displaying the generated password field if the user has the permission configured in the console.

  • “Note” field which is a text input wherein the user can enter a description or any text he wants.

  • “Folder” field in which the user can choose or create a new folder which can the passwords in the list classifated with.

  • “Security level buttons”, with them the user chooses if the password will be stored in bronze, silver or gold level ( there are levels that can be restricted from the console settings).

  • “Save” button which responsible of submitting and saving the password.

3.2.3.2 View password

  • When the user clicks on the password item from the list, “View password” Interface will be displayed wherein the User can:

    • Copy the “Url”, “Login”, “Password”, “Notes”, “Folder” fields for a number of seconds configured in the console settings by just clicking on them.

    • Click on the “Go-to” button “view_password_app” , this action will open :

      1. A default application if it contains the combination “sftp” or “ftp” or “ssh” or “vnc” or “rdp” or “bitvise” prefix plus a valid ip address or a domain name, in the Url of the password.
      2. The default browser ( if the user is connected to MyCena extension in this browser the ” login ” and “password” fields will be automatically filled and he can also fill with note ).
    • Click on “Share password” button if the password is shareable.

    • Click on “Edit password” button in the top right and he will be redirected to “Edit password” interface.

3.2.3.3 Edit password

  • To access to this Interface you can right click ( or long click if you are using mobile version ) and choose “Edit” option, or you can click on the top-right button in the “View password” interface.

  • In “Edit password” interface you can edit all fields except preloaded systems in which you can edit only the “Login” field or generate a password.

3.2.3.4 Delete password

  • To delete passwords, you can right click ( or long click if you are using mobile version ) and choose “Delete” option, or you can click on the top-right button in the “Edit password” interface.

3.2.3.5 Flags

  • Flags”Weak” flag is displayed when the password field length is less than the custom length configured in the console settings

  • “Change” flag is displayed when the password field is not updated within a number of days configured in the console settings.

  • “Blue preloaded” if the type of the credential is preloaded password.

  • “Green preloaded” if the type of the credential is preloaded system.

  • “Removed” if the type of the credential is preloaded system and it is removed from the console.
